The Calling Store is a Catholic store operated and owned by eDirect, Inc., inspired by the calling of Jesus to walk in His steps. The cofounder of The Calling Store grew up in New Jersey, referred to as "The Deacon's Daughter". She was proud to be the daughter of parents who held their Catholic faith in the highest standing, shaping her faith, making her proud to be known as "The Deacon's Daughter”. She experienced many callings by Jesus, which started as a child through to the present day. She sought comfort and peace in the presence of Jesus throughout her life. She has witnessed firsthand Jesus' healing hand and grace on many occasions.

Upon answering Jesus' call to walk in His steps, during the 2023 Lenten Season, she contacted her Deacon father and asked him to arrange a trip to the Holy Land. She knew she was being called to walk in the steps of Jesus. When the pilgrimage was postponed and later replaced with a pilgrimage to Rome, due to the war in Israel, she was confused about His calling since she thought she was being led to the Holy Land. Answering his call, she went to Rome, which led her straight to the Holy Stairs, or Scala Sancta, in Rome. She did not realize, at the time, that the marble steps covered by wood for preservation were traditionally known as the steps Jesus climbed to the Roman Praetorium in Jerusalem, where he would be condemned to death by Pilate. Despite not knowing and despite the pain she was in due to previous knee surgery, she climbed the stairs, praying, on her knees, as this is the only way anyone is permitted to walk in the steps of Jesus via the Holy Stairs. When she later found out that those were the actual steps, she realized she had answered Jesus' call to walk in His steps.

Three days before the one-year anniversary of her Pilgrimage to Italy, she was unexpectedly let go from her job. Although surprised by this life-changing event, she found she was excited and elated more than scared and upset, as she knew Jesus was leading her to continue walking in His steps. She had been called to share Jesus for many years, with the calling getting louder and louder. She didn't know how she could find the time to share Jesus in the way she desired while working her full-time job. Within days of losing her job, she experienced Jesus looking straight into her eyes, through Fr. Anthony at St. Timothy Catholic Church, at the morning Mass on April 12, 2025. Immediately after Mass, she shared her experience with her husband and cofounder. On that same day, she and her husband answered Jesus' call by purchasing their domain name "The Calling Store" and began building their online store with their store slogan, "WALKING IN HIS STEPS".
